Our Nursery Rooms — A Space for Every Stage

At Strawberry Fields Nursery, we believe every age group deserves an environment designed specifically for them. That's why we've created three distinct rooms, each tailored to a different stage of your child's early years — from their very first steps to getting ready for school.

Children at Strawberry Fields Nursery
Blueberries room 1:3 staff to child
BABY ROOM · 0–2 YEARS

Blueberries

Our Blueberries room is a calm, cosy haven designed for babies and young toddlers from birth to two years old. We understand that leaving your baby in someone else's care for the first time can feel daunting — that's why everything about this room is built to comfort, nurture and reassure.

With a staff-to-child ratio of 1:3, your baby will always have a familiar, qualified carer close by. Our team focus on building secure attachments, encouraging sensory exploration and supporting those incredible early milestones — first words, first steps, first friendships.

What to Expect in Blueberries

  • A warm, sensory-rich environment with age-appropriate toys and resources
  • Daily updates with photos and messages so you never miss a moment
  • Gentle routines for feeding, napping and play, tailored to your baby's needs
  • Qualified practitioners who genuinely love what they do
Blackberries room 1:5 staff to child
TODDLER ROOM · 2–3 YEARS

Blackberries

The Blackberries room is where curiosity takes off. Your toddler is finding their voice, testing boundaries and discovering the world at full speed — and our team is right there with them, channelling all that energy into meaningful learning experiences.

At a 1:5 staff-to-child ratio, your child gets the balance of freedom and guidance they need at this age. Our Blackberries team use play-based activities rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage to build confidence, language skills and social awareness.

What to Expect in Blackberries

  • Structured play sessions focused on communication, creativity and physical development
  • Access to extracurricular activities including Love to Learn and Tiny Dancers
  • An outdoor area for fresh air, physical play and exploring nature
  • Support for toilet training and growing independence
Strawberries room 1:8 staff to child
PRESCHOOL ROOM · 3–4 YEARS

Strawberries

Our Strawberries room is where your child gets ready for the big step to school. This is the room where everything comes together — confidence, friendships, early reading, writing and number skills, all nurtured through engaging, purposeful activities.

The staff-to-child ratio is 1:8 (or 1:13 where a staff member holds Early Years Teacher or Qualified Teacher Status), ensuring your child gets the attention they need while learning to collaborate, problem-solve and think independently.

What to Expect in Strawberries

  • School readiness programme covering literacy, numeracy and social skills
  • Extracurricular activities including Book Swappers, Tiny Dancers and swimming lessons
  • Small group activities that build confidence for the transition to reception class
  • Regular progress updates and development observations shared with parents

Meet Our Team

Behind every great room is a dedicated team. At Strawberry Fields, we're proud that the vast majority of our staff are qualified from Level 2 to Level 7, and every single team member holds certificates in first aid, food hygiene, safer sleep and safeguarding. We also have a male practitioner on our team — something that's increasingly valued but still rare in early years settings.
